Jillian and Martijn from Holland came to Lahemaa to see Estonian wildlife wonders with Gran Treks. They were in Lahemaa 13.03-02.04. Most of the days we spent in Lahemaa. We had really great mornings, nice days and eventful nights. We saw how spring takes over winter - lot of migrating birds. Last lynx and first bear tracks on disappearing snow.
Their dreams and reality became quite close. We saw a lynx and bear and we heard wolf pack howling. We met capercaillies and black grouses. For couple of days Martijn and Jillian visited Soomaa NP and Alam-Pedja. Together we were a day and night in Alutaguse National Park.
Best encounters were lynx, bear, ural owl, pygmy owl, tengmalms owl, morning cranes, snow buntings. Regular sights were raccoon dogs, foxes, beavers, white tailed eagles. Fields were crowded by white fronted goose, barnacle goose, bean goose, lapwings.
